Vacationing in Queensland

Yeah.. so, I just got back from visiting Queensland for a week in 2 different places. "The Gold Coast" & "The Sunshine Coast". It was nice a theme-parkish, beachy, warm, (sort of wanna-be Miamish-Orlando, Florida) type feel. It was nice. I didn't want to leave to return here to Cold-Freezing Melbourne, Australia.

For those who don't know the distance between Melbourne & Queensland in Australia... it's about as far as Florida is from New York in the states. I've made a quick reference of the map so that you could all see. We flew from Melbourne and then drove from one coast to the other.



When I get a moment.. I'll post up some pictures. I took so many photos.. I'm gonna have to sort out the interesting & good ones from the not so good ones. Till then.. I just thought I'd give a quick update.

Cartoon (Video)

man.. I really adore ANIMATION being the artist I am. It's ashame though, that so many cartoons have such retarded, immoral and derogratory things in them, that are just currupting the children these days. :p

I love animation... but I've struggled with enjoying them. Let alone enjoying the company of others who 'animate'. Many of their hearts are passionate toward pleasing "man or themselves" instead of "GOD". That's 1 of the reasons I steered away from that crowd. It's just a sad truth. It was hard for me to get away from it, because it's so influential. It's easy to get pulled into an environment like that because of the CAREER you can have, the CREDITS in movies you can have & the guaranteed safety of $$$ money too. Although, it may look comfy & fun.. it's a very dangerous path.

Well, back to this video below.. it's really cool. It's not traditional animation.. but computer animation. All the same, the story is great & gets straight to the point. I wish there were more people out there making toons like this.

In this story, it's a confusion that many people go through. I went through it and it took me a while to wake up from the "false belief" of how a person is supposed to enter into heaven. I praise God for Him revealing the truth. :)

God's answers & truth has always been there.. but I was just never willing to seriously look. I'm so glad I finally did! :)

One thing that they failed to mention to much in this video was that in your prayer to God for salvation, you must not forget to REPENT, TRUST & put YOUR FAITH in JESUS CHRIST in order to seriously make Him, the Lord of YOUR life. (Just thought I'd add that in there)

These are some illustrations I drew up to go along with a sermon that was put together by a friend of mine, (from myspace) Pastor Fred. I thought it would be great.. to visualize what the Bible says in a comic-like way... due to the many people who never even pick up a bible, let alone read about the prophecies that it speaks of (that we are heavily living through right now)

I hope to do more of these in time. Take the time to read, enjoy & absorb what this is trying to express. It means more then just a combination of drawings that were put together. (sorry to be so heavy with ya) ;)

Playing Guitar

So, yeah.. I don't play guitar that well. But you can see here, that I like to try! I do love the soft sounds of peaceful music. It's like a therapy of sorts. Drawing is almost the same. If I was better at the guitar, I'd probably play it as much as I drew. As for the time being, it's just a hobby and a nice thing to do on the side. This is just a 30 second clip of me playing some classical music. So.. enjoy! :)

If you haven't seen me in a while, I've been trying to get back into sharpening my skills and drawing like a mad woman. lol! I've also been updating my website slowly... www.Esly.net I'm still not done.. but I'm getting there! Here's some live caricatures I did recently.

I'm pretty dissapointed in the likenesses & the generic-ness of all of them... but that's mainly all due to me moving out here to Australia... & waiting for my artsupplies. I'm a bit rusty. But I'll be getting it all back soon!

Update on Me!

Hey Everyone,



Just a heads up to ask that you have some grace on me for a bit in replying to emails, blogs, etc.

My belongings from America have just arrived a few days ago. (Hoo-RAY! Fi-nally!!!) and I am unpacking a whole lot of boxes and trying to get organized with furniture, books, art-supplies/equipment, toys (lol!), paperwork, photos, junk and well.... you get the picture.

This wasn't just any move.. this was a 1/2 way around the world move!!! and it took nearly a year to get it all here!!!! So, it wasn't very easy on me!

The love of God & His people have kept me sane this whole time. It's a humbling experience when you live as long as I have without all of your own materials & junk. I'm so happy that the trial of that challenge in my life is over. :o) ..and I will never take the things God has blessed me with, for granted.

I will be unpacking for a very long time... (from the looks of it) It seems like months when you look at it from the angle I'm in. haha.

So my point is.. please don't stop sending me the abundance of emails you're sending me. I really do enjoy reading, listening, watching & learning from your bulletins, blogs, comments, videos, replies & opinions from (( Myspace, HisHolySpace, Youtube, Godtube, Blogger, Hotmail, Yahoo, Skype, Facebook, LinkedIn, ccblog, RayComforts blog )), as I take on my little breaks in between all of my unpacking.

Yet.. sadly, I just may not be able to reply right away.. okay? So, I apologize for the delay beforehand in case it happens alright?

Some old Paintings

Someone mentioned that they didn't know I painted.. but I have and I do.. I just haven't done much of it lately. Mainly because of the lack of art supplies and the BIG change that's occurred in my life... moving overseas. So.. I thought I'd post this very old painting I did about 5 years ago.....

okay.. I've been kind of slacking on the sketch blog. But I've been distracted with my mother's 20 emails she sends me everyday, myspace posts, housework, cooking, setting up to do my own gigs here, church tracts, family b-days, weddings & get togethers, book reading, soon I will be unpacking my arrival of shipment of belongings.. Fabulous Family Reunion in Florida

This is one of the many reunion logos I just did. There were a lot of different color pattern ideas I had.. blues and greens, greens and yellows, purples and blues, rainbow colors too.. but, I've decided to post this one up out of all of them. Cause it represents the humidity in Florida the best... haha. and of course.. the palm trees and beautiful sunshine too. :)

Replaced Character for Mel's Entertainment Logo

Well this is the same logo I did before except with the new character on the right which replaced the old one from before for Mel's Entertainment. I think it came out good.

Angelina

I enjoyed drawing this little girl. She is sooo adorable! She has such a great smile. Very photogenic! Sweet as can be! I sketched her on paper.. (but I'm out of artsupplies until all my things get in from shipment.) So I drew over it in "painter", then colored it in "photoshop". Thank God for digital tools.. You can get a natural look and have no mess to clean up in the end. :)

Logo for Mel's Entertainment.

This is a logo sketch I did for Mel's Entertainment out in L.A. It was a lot of fun working on it.. despite me being sick for the last part of it. I caught a throat infection of some sort. It's really bad! It's lasted for nearly two weeks already! But I'm starting to feel a little better now.

It went through a couple of changes as you can see. But I'm content & happy with the finished look.

This is an old friend of mine from back in the day when I was in my young teens. She found me over on my myspace a while back. And she seems to have a liking for that comic/manga type look. So I thought I'd try something new & different & draw her. I sketched her on paper first.. than cleaned it up in photoshop.. and this is what came about! :)
