yeah.. I know I'm a bit behind.. & I still don't have the iPad. I don't even have a stylus for my iPhone.. but I really wanted to jump into the program on my phone.. so I drew both of these with my finger. I can't wait till I get the money together for an iPad... so I can draw on the program properly with more space. Meanwhile.. I'll just see what the best programs are. :)

okay.. well, here's some more. It's been fun sketching up the ole' 'Freehand' Caricatures again. I didn't realize how much I missed it! :)
This guy is a NFL football coach, "Tony Dungy".Here's a sleepy yawning dog. I honestly think I've drawn about 1-2 Animal Caricatures in the past a long time ago over at Disney. So it was interesting trying to tackle this one. But it ended up alright. I would have rather done it in color.. but the client wanted a single ink of the dog. So here's what I came up with. And here's another cute doggy. :)This guy below was my favorite! I loved drawing him. I wish I got more photos like these. hee-hee! ;D The family below was the awesome 'Jackson' family. Another great amazing artist & his family. They love the Lord & love the lost.. and they emulate that truth with their lives. They are an inspiration to me in more then one way.

Lately all of my work I've been doing.. behind the scenes for the series of books I've been working on.. has mostly been all with the Wacom Tablet. But considering I've been having technical difficulties.. (until I get a new one) I've been loosening up my hand again drawing lots of caricatures. I nearly forgot how wonderful it was to do! It feels GREAT to pick up the marker again & draw on some real live paper! I love it! It's even nicer to draw a different image every 7-10 minutes rather then drawing & editing the exact same book page for much longer then what any person would want to be working on them for. :) So it's been quite a relaxing week of caricaturing. I'm loving it.. and missing it.

This guy really reminded me of "Quentin Tarantino" doesn't he? So crazy! He HAS to be related or something!

Coloring was so fun too. I enjoyed coloring these guys using Photoshop. Yes, my Wacom Tablet is not working.. so it was a bit frustrating to color these at the beginning. But hey! I got through it okay, thank the Lord! ;D

Yes, it's established that my wacom tablet has seen it's final drawing. I'm going to be looking around for a new one. Though, I wish I could afford the new Wacom Intuos 4 or even the Cintiq 21ux would be an outstanding replacement. But I must humble myself to whatever is available quickly so that I can do the work, I'm missing out on right now. :)I extended it's life as long as possible with taping up it's blood vessels. hee-hee.
But there was no reviving for this baby. It's time to bury that puppy now. ;)

Yes.. I've been drawing. I have! But I've been drawing so very much.. I have no time to post at the moment. I will in the long run.. post what I've been up to. But for now, I must tackle the wave of work that has hit me!

I've also been socially busy with Church over at CALVARY CHAPEL MELBOURNE, AU. It's been great for me though. I love the people out here. They're all so very sweet.
Meanwhile, I'll leave ya with a drawing I did for my own family members during the Christmas Rush. I drew each of us.. and added it to some Merchandise. They absolutely loved it... and will hopefully treasure it for as long as they can. hee-hee. ;D

My apologies for taking so long to post. I've had a LOT of personal stuff going on over here. All has been good.. but just plain ole' busy.

Here are some of my latest caricatures. I haven't posted any in a while.. cause I was getting so caught up in the 'Digital Illustrations' for Commissions. I was almost starting to forget how to draw the freehand caricatures! :P *zoinks scoob!*

Sorry.. some of these I don't have reference photos of the people.. because.. I'm too busy & also too lazy to load them all up.. lol. So.. only the last ones have reference photos of who I drew.
The next two below were colored digitally.. and the font was done digitally obviously on the 1st one.This one below was cool. They took my drawing & made shirts out of them for their Bachelor & Bachelorette ('Hens Night' in Australia) parties. Yeah... this one below.. was a bit of a strain on my brain. I hate drawing bikes. :P But, I figured out how to make it look somewhat decent.This next one below was of some mentally disabled kids. I tend to find it a challenge to draw them both cute without taking off any likeness. But this was the best I could do. The kid on the very left.. probably has the most deformed facial expression. I did my best to not make him completely different from the rest of the kids.Yes! I could have gotten more creative with these next two.. by actually having them playing in the drawings.. but, with my limited time.. I just didn't. lol. :P

okay.. well, this is an album cover I did for a christian metal band. I'm not into metal, nor have I ever.. so this was a bit of a challenge for me. lol. Anyhow, Steve Rowe (owner of Rowe Productions & Wonrowe Vision)generously contacted me(He's also the main Artist of Mortification & Light Force). He had a very precise requested description for me. I posted it below the images. It will give you some definition of what's going on in the artwork.

Description: The front cover is the Robocoptor flying through the air towards like the edge of hell. People are falling in with shock & some standing around like talking & laughing not recognizing the danger. Some see the close danger & are climbing a rope ladder sent down by Robaocotor to rescue them. They are looking across at hell, climbing the ladder relieved that they are being rescued. A big devil is on the left threatening Robocopor but Robocoptor is shooting him with machine gun rounds from his landing pads underneath the copter. That is what he lands on like a normal copter. The background will go off into distant twisted hills. Like this is the last valley of life outside Christ just before death comes. Like rescuing people a few metres from hell just before they die. Characters with Suits, long hairs, punks, woman in dress & heels. Just a Cross section of society. All with 1 last chance to be saved. - Steve Rowe

In Memory of Michele Nichols - R.I.P. (28 years old)

Shocking Sad News from my old job. :( A friend of mine just passed away last night.

I'm glad I got to see her one last time on my last visit earlier this year about 3 1/2 months ago. Though, it was so short. Here are some photos I got to take with her & some of the other cc'rs (Caricature Connection Team).
When she started over at CC... it was always fun to work with her & at gigs too. She was always so honest & kind to everyone around her. And always light up the room. She'll be greatly missed.

I just don't know what to say.

A few hours ago I received a phone call from a former CCer, Laura Bonacquisti. Barbie and I have been reeling in disbelief for the last few hours. Laura, you see, was a former roommate and very close friend of beloved CC Lead Michele Nichols. If you've caught the national News today, you know that a small plane went down late last night in Minnesota. Michele was on that plane.

She did not survive. Her family graciously asked Laura to contact us and Michele's entire CC family. Michele was our newest, and proudest CC Lead, and an amazing, incredible artist. But beyond that, she was an amazing, incredible person. I am so glad to know that she was a fellow born again Christian and I have the assurance of seeing her again soon.

Laura has promised to keep us all updated on the funeral arrangements. Barbie and I are absolutely shellshocked. Our condolences go out to her entire family, especially her Dad, our friend Randy Nichols.

Randy was the music leader at a church Barbie and I attended for a few years and an all around amazing, gifted musician. I will never forget being at a gig at the Grand Floridian a few years ago, when Randy jumped off the stage ( he was there with his band, performing) after a set was done, and proceeded to make his way to where we were set up drawing caricatures. It was a large event, and we had many artists there. He spoke to someone, and they referred him to me. Not recognizing me from church, he asked how someone got a job doing this, drawing caricatures. He told me he had a daughter that was a really good artist. I gave him my name and number, but figured I would never hear anything back from it.

Two months or less later, his daughter, Michele, started at CC. I will never forget her smile, her rapport with guests, her spirit. After several years with us, it was obvious that Michele was one of the best and brightest CC had ever had the chance to work with. So her promotion to "Lead" status was long overdue. She seemed so proud of becoming a Lead, and we were so happy to have her in that capacity. I only wish it had lasted longer.

Everytime Barbie or Ted does the schedule, they will miss her. Everytime I work a gig, I'll be looking for her to come around the corner.

We love you, Michele.

We will see you soon.

Daniel & Terri's Anniversary Caricature

Here are 2 of my very good brother & sister's in Christ, "Daniel & Terri".
I hand drew this & colored it with 'watercolor paints'. This month of June is their Anniversary!These two are gems! They are overly generous people who I was blessed to have met since about 3 years ago. I think for as long as I've been out here in Australia. Terri has been a very loving godly woman who's not only a prayer warrior but a friend who is always looking to help lift someone else up & give them encouragement through their lives. She & her husband are 2 of a kind. They are always willing to give a helping hand & boldly claim Jesus as Lord & Savior of their lives. Daniel is a computer scientist. I call him a computer genius. Terri is also a home-making sewing machine expert, singer, Cinema 4D Designer & Multi-Computer Program Tester. Without her Daniel would not be able to cope. lol. ;D

I think EVERY Ladies Ministry should have this teaching in their church. I've learned soooo much! I highly recommend it in a big way. It's NOT a 'man-bashing-teaching' & it's NOT a 'feminist-teaching' either.. it's straight-up biblical. The good stuff! :)

(Her birthday just passed June 8th & so I gave her this as a gift)

If you haven't read this book, "A Full House of Growing Pains" you are missing out! Barbara Cameron, (who is the mother of 4 - the "The little Growing Pain - Kirk Cameron" & also of Candace Cameron from tv show, "Full House", as well as Bridgette & Melissa Cameron) pours her heart out in this story about all her own personal trials she dealt with in her life. The good & the bad. She was very brave to have been so honest.

It was of great delight to me.. I was very grateful... and ashamed I didn't read it sooner! It takes me a while sometimes to get to the books I have sitting on my shelf! lol. It was so difficult putting the book down. I just wanted to continue to read on. This book will make you cry & laugh feeling every bit of emotional experience. It's given me a sort of relief to realize I'm not the only female in the world who has so many clusters of emotional thoughts running through my mind constantly. lol. ♥

I redrew Justin as promised a while back ago. lol. The other one of just his face.. was a bit boring.. so I made him a proper face & body caricature. :) I was trying not to lose the likeness of him.. cause I wanted to give him an expression of 'questioning'. Anyways, for those of you who have never heard of Justin.. His ministry focuses on how to Discern between 'God's Biblical Truth' vs. 'Straight-up Heresy'.Really he helps you to seek the truth by actually READING & VERIFYING scripture WITH scripture within the bible.. instead of sole taking someone's word for it just by listening to a pastor preach or a teacher teach. God clearly warns us to be alarmed, especially in the last days. He points to the Bereans who studied (not just read) the scriptures daily.

Here's one I did just last week. At first I liked it.. but now when I look at it.. I don't like it anymore. I see a lot of things wrong with it that I think I could have done much better on. But I guess that's why PRACTICE is so important. It's one thing to make someone else happy.. and a completely different thing being totally content with a piece of artwork that you did. :P An Artist is his own worse critic.

I've really been pretty busy & not posting much. Reason being: I've had ups & downs, in & outs. I've really had a pretty rough few months regarding my Health.
Things are now looking up, slowly - but surely.. and I give all the Glory to God for that. I also thank all of my brothers & sisters in Christ for praying daily for me. They have been a wonderful support.

Also, I've had some time to sit & do some repenting of my own. This is something all of us christians need to do daily. Not necessarily for 'Salvation', but for 'Examination' of ourselves to make sure we are walking in the faith. I'm grateful that a sister of Christ of mine was bold enough to tell me she got a word from the Lord to forgive someone I know. I thought I had forgiven them, but every time I thought about them... an annoying attitude would arise about all the things that irritated me about them. That was the key factor that made me realize that I hadn't completely forgiven. As a born-again christian, we have what the bible calls a helper to guide us through these tough challenges, so that we may overcome them.

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth. It is to your advantage that I go away; for if I do not go away, the Helper will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you." (John 16:7)

That helper is God's 'Holy Spirit'.

So, before I headed out to visit home, I had finished up "The Life of Charles Darwin" comic book for Ray. It was fun to work on. I had a blast. I wasn't able to post too much cause I had a lot going on EVERYWHERE! I'll be posting each thing slowly but surely. This is the front page of the comic. It's all full-color & all hand-drawn. The only thing that is digital is the 'text' & the 'color'. There is outrageous controversy over this.. as always with the atheist, when it comes to christianity exposing truth.

whoops.. I totally forgot about my blog. I've been on a month vacation in the U.S. and it was awesome! I enjoyed Sunny-Florida & the bible-belt of Cleveland, Tennessee. David & I had a fabulous time.. and I didn't want it to end. But like all earthly things... things eventually come to an end.

Also, I heard that Corey Haimes died at the age of 38. Don't miss heaven! Seek the Lord while you have the gift of breath.

I've been giving a lot of my time to Facebook lately.. mainly because that's how I can keep in touch with my family, friends & see photos and what not. If it weren't for them.. I'd probably only be posting here on the blog.

Anyways.. I missed a few people while I was in Florida... and it was either cause they themselves were working.. or because David & I were enjoying our time in themeparks or with family. So I apologize for anyone I didn't get to see. Not that any of those ppl ever come to my blog.. (they spend their time over in FB).

This one has a cool magic trick at the beginning containing the celebrity millions that Dale, Paul & myself worked on. Afterward, you'll see the "Darwin Comic Book" I worked on again. Then, 2 books that Cedric Homestead worked on too. I've been a fan of his for a long time. His work is brilliant.

The artwork I did was 1st drawn in pencil.
2nd I inked it with a "Faber Castell" Pitt Pen / (Brush Pen).
3rd colored it in "Corel Painter" on my wacom tablet.
4th Finally, I did the font work in "Photoshop" combining it altogether.

okay.. well, I posted this a while back.. but the video wasn't finished, I guess. So "John Ligon" the author of all the books from,"The Father's Blessing" re-did the video. I did the drawings in this one.. and "Paul Clarkson" did the color.

Now, the "4th Commandment" Book is what I've been working on now. It's got some amazing artwork by Molly who is also one of the artist. She is brilliant in what she does. Now in my drawings of the 9th book. I INKED everything in the computer using, "Corel Painter IX" & "Photoshop". Molly on the other hand, did & still is doing the 4th book in pencil. I'm taking her drawings into Photoshop.. Duplicating the line work, then Darkening the levels & brightening the white space so, it'll look clearer. Also, I'm removing any extra marks that may have appeared there through the scanning process. Then, if there are any opened shapes where the linework doesn't connect. I'm connecting it. Then finally, I can color her work.

Barbara Cameron's "Full House of Growing Pains"

If you haven't read this book, "A Full House of Growing Pains" you are missing out! Barbara Cameron, (who is the mother of 4 - the "The little Growing Pain - Kirk Cameron" & also of Candace Cameron from tv show, "Full House", as well as Bridgette & Melissa Cameron) pours her heart out in this story about all her own personal trials she dealt with in her life. The good & the bad. She was very brave to have been so honest.

It was of great delight to me.. I was very grateful... and ashamed I didn't read it sooner! It takes me a while sometimes to get to the books I have sitting on my shelf! lol. It was so difficult putting the book down. I just wanted to continue to read on. This book will make you cry & laugh feeling every bit of emotional experience. It's given me a sort of relief to realize I'm not the only female in the world who has so many clusters of emotional thoughts running through my mind constantly. lol. ♥

So, I had this photo below taken of us back in 2006. It's a terrible photo of me, I know.. but I had been so tired from driving like 8 hours by myself & then, attending the "Transformed" event.. which I must say was Incredible!

Here's behind the scenes at livingwaters. A lot of work has to be produced for such a limited amount of footage. Reminds me of the days I used to work in Casting with Mel Johnson CSA. Watching how much time would take place to produce a 'series for a show' or a even a quick 'movie scene' seemed like FOR-EVER to get done.. and then it would only be between 40 seconds & 2 minutes of actual footage! :P The scenes would be shot like 40 times in a row. It was rare to do one that only took 4 takes or less. But it was a super-learning experience all the same. I left "casting" so I could get into "drawing".

In this video you'll see Brad & Dale's incredible editing talents, Paul Clarkson's artwork (left screen on Brad Snow's monitor & my own as well (right screen) being fiddled with for the "Celebrity Playing Cards".

Here is another one. Sharing all the details of what goes into the audio, etc. LOL. This one makes me laugh.. cause here I am trying I am at home trying to put together a small little home-video of David & I. I've been editing audio like crazy! Adding in BG music, lowering volumes, etc. It's been fun so far. But I've been using like 4 different programs just to edit like 4 minutes of my rookie home-video. hee-hee. Aw-well. It's certainly no livingwaters professional output.. but it's fun all the same! :D If it comes out good.. I might share it with you guys. Don't hold your breath though! haha! ;D

haha.. I don't know if anyone has ever heard of "Wittygraphy". But my good friend, Jimmy Pereira introduced me to this awesome free website community for Caricature Artists! It's got hundreds of members & they are all swell artists! A very good place to learn & pick up a few pointers through the many style of art out there. Not only that, but every now and again, you might get a surprise of someone drawing your mug every once in a while! Check these two out!

This one below is by, "EM". Stands for... uh.. not sure! lol. But he does great work all the same.

This one was drawn by, "Rúbel Mujica" from Venenzuela. He's only been drawing caricatures for 1 year! And he only does it as a hobby. Apparently, he purchased "Keelan's Book"(my old boss from Disney) - called, "Let's Toon" & it's obviously helped him a great deal.

Maybe eventually, I'll show a bit more of other people's work that I have accumulated & stashed in my computer somewhere. I have gazillions of these that people have drawn of me. They are each so different too! They all make me laugh. I love being drawn funny! ;D

okay, over here in Australia... most people have either "Evaporated Cooling" or these wide box type "a/c wall units" that you can buy.

Being as silly & whiny as I am.. I was missing the standard "Central Refrigerated Cooling" I've lived in all my life, back home. Especially during the "heat waves" that occurred here last year. The evaporated cooling is like a fan type of thing that will sort of humidify & cool the house down.. but to me, it just does not do justice during the summer months. When I have to work in a hot office with computers - it's not very comforting nor is it easy to concentrate. It reminded me of those hot days working outside at Disney's Animal Kingdom theme park.

So, after much patience, a gentle husband & God's Blessing, I finally got the proper a/c I wanted. Now, I can't even tell when it's hot outside! YAAY!

So of course, I had to make me a little reminder of this little "humble-lesson" time in my life that the Lord got me through.. so that I will always remember not to take it for granted.

lol. okay, here's a few caricatures I drew! I know there's always room for improvement! But, this was my free-hand Face & Body Caricatures... that I have not done in quite a while!

GREG: He just L-O-V-E-S doing this thing called, Parkour. It's some sort of sporty thing that is mixed between "Acrobatics" and well, getting from point A to point B. It's a very active sort of thing.. and well, kids jump from building to building. My older Brother & I used to do something like this.. but we didn't have a name for it.. we just called it Brave Jumping from building to building. (Something, I wouldn't recommend anyone doing!) Could be very dangerous! So.. don't try this at home kids! ;D Also, not your average drawing.. this one I shrunk the head a bit.. so I could fit the background in better.

TERR(a.k.a. animator-terri) & DAN: okay.. so here's the computer fanatics! A lot like me! You'll find me constantly on the computer working like a maniac! Ter is a mega-3D artist who creates models every second I turn my head!!!! Here I emphasized the fact that these two are always updating their computer equipment faster then you can, "click". They've always got the latest software & enjoy what they do! Her husband the computer scientist is there enjoying building something new & improved as always! haha! He really is a computer scientist! I'm not lyin! That's his real title! Ter taught him everything he knows. lol. (okay I might be fibbing a little bit) But everyone knows that behind every successful man, is a wise woman! And here she is! And might I say the both of them are such ambassador's for Christ, as well as Loving & Generous to everyone they meet! They definitely represent God in all they do.

THE SPENCE KIDS: These two kids I've been seeing grow up via-internet.. for quite sometime... through a sweet lady I know from the Spence Family. Their Mom, is full of many talents in crafts, sewing & cooking. Always a joy to see what she does next! Her kids must love her like crazy cause their smiles generate such radiant angelic smiles. These drawings don't do them justice.. But don't forget.. they are only but free-hand cartoons! lol. ;D

okay.. so these weren't that great but you've gotta understand I've been so out of practice drawing for drawing live caricatures cause I've been swamped with doing artwork "digitally" on the computer. I know I keep saying that.. but it's so true! Honest!

So some of these are "okay..." and others are "so, so" & some are just like.. "what the..?" lol. hee-hee. Also, I didn't take photos of all of the ones I did... cause I know some people are a bit weird about having their photos taken. Also there were these THREE awesome "Face & Body" ones I did.. that I totally FORGOT to take photos of! grrr.. 1. They were more like, "Theists" not "Deists".

2. There is only ONE TRUE belief in ONE TRUE God.
The rest are false. "Jesus Christ is the way, the truth

3. Believe it or not Atheists outside of America even recognize the fact that the US was founded on Christianity. So, your comment is verifying that either
a) you haven't done the research yourself,
b) you have been misguided or
c) you could have possibly been misled & mistaught by secular schools.
Please don't take what I say as an insult, but in love & not mockingly. Remember, the non-private schools of our day are now primarily atheistic in the U.S. If this is where you are learning from... start moving outside the box & do the research on your own - outside of the secular schools. Go read the true manuscripts of these people.

See what our founding fathers have said. Read their words all directing to Christ Jesus, the true Christian God. They also directly link our laws to the laws of God - "The 10 Commmandments"

Public utility pleads most forcibly for the general distribution of the Holy Scriptures. The doctrine they preach, the obligations they impose, the punishment they threaten, the rewards they promise, the stamp and image of divinity they bear, which produces a conviction of their truths, can alone secure to society, order and peace, and to our courts of justice and constitutions of government, purity, stability and usefulness. In vain, without the Bible, we increase penal laws and draw entrenchments around our institutions. Bibles are strong entrenchments. Where they abound, men cannot pursue wicked courses, and at the same time enjoy quiet conscience.

Jedediah Morse:"To the kindly influence of Christianity we owe that degree of civil freedom, and political and social happiness which mankind now enjoys. . . . John Peter Gabriel Muhlenberg In a sermon delivered to his Virginia congregation on Jan. 21, 1776, he preached from Ecclesiastes 3.
Arriving at verse 8, which declares that there is a time of war and a time of peace, Muhlenberg noted that this surely was not the time of peace; this was the time of war. Concluding with a prayer, and while standing in full view of the congregation, he removed his clerical robes to reveal that beneath them he was wearing the uniform of an officer in the Continental army! He marched to the back of the church; ordered the drum to beat for recruits and over three hundred men joined him, becoming the Eighth Virginia Brigade. I thought this was so funny. This is from of Will Eisner's books. This sums up a lot of what can happen during the process of books being published. lol.

But generally speaking, some authors can be so specific about what they want in all areas of feeling, emotion, composition, etc. and can really help an artist view what they'd like to portray visually. But sometimes there can be a struggle. I've had both instances happen to me.

So yeah... sometimes things will run "perfect & smoothly"; other times, "difficult & unclear". Either way, I'll ask for direction & favor with the client from God through prayer and/or just give thanks to God for supplying me with the ability to do so.

This was a quick 6 minute sketch of Justin Peters. @ Ter: I know you asked me in an earlier post of Justin Peters of why I took it down.. and it was because I wasn't satisfied with it.. and wanted to draw him again. He didn't ask me to take it down. lol. ;D Anyway, for those who don't know Justin. I have some videos of him below if you scroll down to one of the earlier blogs or click here. He was out here in Australia not too long ago.. and it was awesome to meet him. He was a very kind & godly loving man. He's lives for Christ & pleads with people to open up their eyes to discernment.
P.S. My computer has been down. So, I've been catching up with cleaning up my office, house, etc. Sorry for the lack of art! lol. I'm getting back to work now soon... and shall have more to share. :) yaay!

ISCA Caricature Convention 09'

It would have been cool to go to the ISCA Caricature Convention. Last week it was in Sandusky Ohio. Look at how these talented artists bonding together like Caricture-Geeks do! How fun!

I see a lot of people here that I know... and some I do not recognize. haha.. my Caricature Disney boss, Keelan is at 3:59 sitten next to Kenny. The groups I recognize from Japan are all there too! eww.. this must've been so much fun! I love just sittin' around with a a bunch of artists! B.t.w. They don't just sit around.. they do competitions too, attend seminars & win prizes! Enjoy the small taste you see here. :)

What I was implying in the blogpost earlier.. is that I HAVE NO TIME OFF AT ALL.. AND HAVE NOT FOR A LONG TIME!!!

A BREAK... from having any time off.. meaning: No time off whatsoever! lol. I guess I only make sense to myself.. forgive me for me being unclear! Dude.. I've been so busy up to my ears in work! I don't even have time to invoice people to get paid! Now.. that's pretty bad! huh?

Anyhow.. I'm enjoying it though.. cause it's really fun work!

Paul Washer - I love it when he preaches and/or teaches. I drew up a quick sketch inbetween work.. so I could post this with one of his videos for all to hear. The main reason I like listening to him.. is because he's so honest! VERY HONEST! He's not a wimp.. he's bold & he's real! I rarely hear anyone preach like him. He's definitely a gem in this world. Here in the video below.. he talks about how his life got stirred up to do what he does today.

3 Commissions

Here are 3 commissions I did. I'm a little rusty.. but I did my best. I've been out of the loop with drawing caricatures for a while.

All Drawn In: Corel Painter with my wacom.

I notice that when someone gives me too many photos of themselves showing different ages, weight, hair changes, etc. It tends to throw off the perception of what they look like. It sort of goes the same way for family members. If you draw your parents or siblings for instance.. it becomes a bit difficult to determine the look, because in your mind.. you've seen them in so many different ways and your brain is fighting against the way they look now. I till this day still see my little brother as being 3 years old... though now he's like 16. lol.
yeah.. they wanted their car to be in a style to the movie cars. So.. this is what I ended up with.

I know, I know I've gotta practice more. Well, believe it or not.. I would.. but I can't now..

cause I just got more work with the "Father's Blessing" for those children's books. So.. I guess it's back to the drawing board on those for while. I'm not complaining at all! I do love drawing cutesy animal characters & playful plush backgrounds. It's fun & cool because you actually get to learn a whole lot in the process. It forces you to really push yourself in the areas you are not used to.

Drawing model sheets, changing perspectives (from the standard caricature view point) & trying to emulate exactly what the writer of the story wants is certainly a challenge for me. But I love it because by the time I reach the end of each illustration, I get to joyfully sit back & stare at the picture I worked so intensely on.

Suddenly, the satisfaction sets in. The reality of all that hustling, foreboding & the tension of hardwork that was put out has finally established.. and the result is a beautiful peice of artwork! :)

Seeing it in color is a joy in itself as well. After all of it is finished.. (the books) the greatest part that I see in it will be the one thing that the majority of ppl. in this world care the least for.. and that is, the gratification I'll have for being able to work on something that lasts not only in this lifetime.. but throughout all Eternity, for the Glory of God.

Yes, I do enjoy seeing a smile come out of someone I do a caricature for.. and I do enjoy creating a gift that some one can keep.. but using a talent God allowed me to possess & serve Him with by helping His kingdom expand.. is satisfying on all levels that I wouldn't even be able to describe into words.

Drawing my Hand

okay.. so, today I thought I'd practice hands. Now.. normally I tend to draw them by looking at books. I prefer George Bridgeman & Burne Hogarth normally.Their books rock! Very informative if you wanna do hardcore studying on the human body. And who could forget Tom Richmond's Mad Magazine Caricatures he does as well.

This time.. I used my own hand. I figured since my hands are always available for modeling.. I may as well draw them.. right? It's could to warm up your hand eye coordination before you go jumping into other things. Practice! Practice! Practice! :D
LOL! Yes, my hands are a bit boney.. which makes it tough to draw. The meatier your hands... I think.. the easier it is to draw. I had to fake a bit of meat on my hands so you could see the volume better. Woman's hands tend to be pointy at the fingertips normally anyways.. so I find it to be tougher to get good dimensions from my own hands generally. But I did my best for now.

You can see how I proggression took place as I kept drawing. That's the only way to get better.. is not give up & keep moving forward (even when you mess up). The form of the hand has so many parts to it.. and it really is incredible when you see how your own hand can be manipulated into so many forms. Hands are fun to draw!
Our bodies are so intricately made. It's a wonder how our bodies can work in so many ways. So to turn a blind eye to the truth that God intelligently designed us is to be senseless & bewildered.
